History Preserved
In our modern world very little stands of the old. Buildings have been knocked down and replaced, parks have been excavated and the prized beaches of the world covered by apartment blocks. However, there is a place in South Africa where still the place holds true to its ancestry, Pilgrims Rest. Fully preserved in the mountains of Mpumalunga this quaint town has everything to offer. Here you will find the original Post Office and green grocer store made of tin as well as the hotel and petrol station with its original hangings and pumps from the first settlers. It is truly a unique town and everyday a small gathering of hawkers sell their African wares to the tourists that pass through this loop hole to the past. A must see for all.
