It's not the most glamorously-named hotel, and indeed, it's not the most glamorous of hotels, but Rotta is a solid option if you're stuck in the Brazil/Argentine border town of Porto Xavier. At just RS$30 for a double room, with bathroom and breakfast, you couldn't ask for any more. It's just a couple of minutes from the ferry border crossing over the Rio Paraguay and, although rooms are certainly basic, you do get TV and the breakfast is amazing for the price - several fresh fruit juices, cakes, lovely soft bread, cheese, coffee, hot chocolate...plenty to get you starched up and full of energy for the day ahead!
