Samara Beach
Samara beach is a quiet option on this popular bit of coastline in Costa Rica and we noticed fewer rich older Americans looking for real estate opportunities in this neck of the woods! It takes about five hours by bus from San Jose, but the ride is relatively easy compared to most destinations in Costa Rica given the condition of some of the roads. You come out of the jungle at the bottom of a hill to reach Samara. It's a very small town with a few bars and restaurants to keep us travellers amused.
