Just nipping over to Paraguay!
Puerto Iguacu is famous, of course, for being the closest town on the Argentinian side the amazing Iguacu falls. We'd already seen the falls the previous year, however, and were interested in seeing Puerto Iguacu's other, less celebrated neighbour - the border with Paraguay and the town of Ciudad del Este. As we plan to travel up through Paraguay to Bolivia later this year, we thought we'd nip over the border and see what things were like over there. The border town is (in) famous as a rat run for Brazilians and Argentinians on the hunt for cheap electrical goods, clothes etc, and things certainly were cheap - even with the gringo surcharge that so many South Americans like to apply!
