Traveling across Brazil - Tiete giant central bus station
If you want to find a cheap way to travel across Brazil and other South American countries – buses are a good option. In São Paulo you must then head to the Tiête buses central station. This is one of the largest buses central stations in the world!! People arrive from all over Brazil to São Paulo – it is like a giant “farm of ants”, you almost feel the ground moving! From Tiête you can also take buses to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, etc..
The place is easy to reach by underground – it is located near the station Portuguesa-Tiête. Connections to the Guarulhos Airport also exist – so in all a voyage across Brazil may bring you to Tiête one way or the other.
It was particularly interesting to see all the different physiognomies and language accents of Brazilians arriving from all over – while I was waiting for buses there.

Sao Paulo for beach bums!
Think of Sao Paulo and you'll doubtless conjure up images of skyscrapers, packed streets and general big-city chaos. But few people realise that Sao Paulo state is actually home to some of Brazil's most beautiful beaches - many of which compare favourably with those of arch-rival RIo de Janeiro. Ilha Bela is the best known of Sao Paulo's beach resorts, and a popular holiday destination for Paulistas, but the city lies just 40km from the state's beautiful coast, where you'll find countless tranquil beaches, jungle-clad mountains, even wildlife sanctuaries. As someone who had written Sao Paulo off as just a giant industrial city, I have to say I was incredibly surprised by the beauty of the state
