Gateway to the true Sahara and Touregs, Tchin-Tabaradene

I went to Tchin-Ta about six months before the Toureg Rebellion flared up again, and rebels attacked the town. If you are in to high-risk adventure, it might be worth a trip- or just wait a couple years.
Tchin-Ta was the site of the original Toureg Peace accords, and is one of their major cities. I was surprised how small the city was, and how desolate. It lies at the end of a latterite road that connects it to Tahoua, and the beginning or a dirt road that doesn't stop until it hits Algeria.
Touregs themselves will tell you that Agadez is for tourists, and Tchin-ta is theirs. It is TRUE Sahara
