Klosterbitter Tihany - Souvenir Drinks
Tihany, of course, is very well known for its church called Tihany Abbey; I totally loved the view from Tihany Abbey looking toward Lake Balaton, with sailboats here and there, clear sky and nice breeze, it was like something from a painting. One thing that I realized when I went to Tihany Abbey was that from all the souvenirs stores/houses that my family and I went to, only the souvenir shop right at the Tihany Abbey that sells Klosterbitter Tihany drinks. It was kind of odd to see a shop related to the church selling drinks though but it was more odd realizing that none of the other souvenir stores have it at their place. For a small box consisting 2 bottles of Klosterbitter Tihany, it cost us only around 1000 Forint while for a big size bottle it was something around 4000 Forint. I haven’t tasted it until today though, they were purchased for the sake of souvenir :)

Paprikaház in Tihany
From the so many souvenir shops and places in Tihany, the best so far that I have ever been and seen was the Paprikahaz. I am sure this is a place that no tourists will missed to spot especially when you go up to the Tihany Abbey by the small kiddy train (Dotto Kisvonat); it is most likely the kiddy train stops at the alley just in front of the Paprikahaz.
Paprikahaz is a souvenir store with paprika specialty. Tons of dried paprika are hanging here and there and it is such an attraction to the eyes; unfortunately I do have to say they are quite expensive, but where in the world when there are so many tourists coming by every now and then and the souvenirs are cheap, right?
Paprikahaz store is actually a two storey building but the store is the one in the base floor only and it is not that big remembering they have many paprika displayed here and there so it is somewhat over crowded to my opinion. As you enter the entrance door, all you can see to your left and right are dried paprika, some with strong scent! I quite like this store, indeed.
If you are visiting Tihany Abbey, I bet you will not miss this souvenir place. Happy shopping!
