Insider advice for your Trieste vacation

Sinbad the sailor
Trieste - some impressions 5 stars
Trieste is a city dominated by its hills and nice harbor. It is really, really close to Slovenia and in fact in some suburbs Slovenian is the dominating language. The rich history of Trieste explains its role as crossroad of cultures – even nowadays with its international reputed centres for physics and other sciences.

If you drive up into the higher hill roads – from there you can see the full extension of the harbor and water front of Trieste. The city is not that big and has little churches in many places. I liked in particular the Piazza Unità d’Italia and its nice buildings, like the Palace of the Government. From there taking a walk along the harbor will give you a feeling about Trieste.
