Nick's Homestay is quite far away from the town centre but it was the most beautiful place we have stayed in and everyone was really friendly and helpful.
There are 6 rooms available to...

Pesto Café is situated on a hillside near to Ubud in Bali and it was a place that I had been recommended to go to especially for traditional Indonesian food. When I got there I found that the...

I went to Kafe in Ubud in order to enjoy their burgers as they looked very enticing indeed. However that was not all that this rather cute establishment had on offer. Indeed, the menu had plenty of...

The Amandari resort in the Central Bali city of Ubud gave me a true taste of traditional Balinese living. My thatched roof room was detached and had its own front gate and the entire suite fronted...

The Aniniraka Resort & Spa was certainly a treat and during my stay there I was very pleased that the place made the best of its surroundings. Situated just a couple of kilometers outside of Ubud,...

Last year was the latest time I visited Bali. Usually Bali was always Kuta, Sanur, Seminyak ... but that time, with my husband, we decided to visit Ubud for it's traditional dances, wood crafting and of course the paddy fields (and volcanoes-- especially Mount Agung and Kintamani!).

If you want to do some decent shopping for crafts while you're in Bali, Ubud is definitely the place to come. There is street after street of shops selling all kinds of handicrafts - from useless tat, to amazing pieces of art and jewelery. Now, I'm not one for shopping normally - I tend to get...

Now this is a crazy place - it's like the Wizard of Oz monkey's gone wild! Can you tell I really didn't like it?
I've been to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary twice. It's very...

Ubud is a much nicer area of Bali that Kuta, although it is fairly small and a bit boring but nice for a day trip, I don't think that you would need much more than that (mind you I do get bored pretty easily!). You can see monkeys in the park at Monkey Forest and they are also often out in the...

The year of 2004 was the very first time that I traveled to Bali, Indonesia, with my husband. We stayed there for a week long at Yan’s Beach Bungalows (well this is how their hotel’ receipt says, but the sign that we read at the place was Yan’s Café), just a couple streets down from the...
