Wels

Wels is a big industrial city in Upper Austria between Salzburg and Linz. It is not special in any way, but it can be a good spot to spend an hour or two on the way between the two other great cities. Wels has a nice main square with a city tower and several pedestrian streets atound it and two nice curches – the catholic parish church and the lutheran church. There are also two castles in the city center (called Burg and Schloss Polheim respectively) and although none of them is special or beautiful they both look quite nice.
