The shipwreck of Zante 5 stars
1 of 1 people found this review helpful
It is the most popular place in Zante. An old, abandoned ship surrounded by massive rocks. There is two ways to get there. Either by boat or car. The first choice is the most recommended because you can access the ship at close and have a swim. It is one of the most photographed places in the island. I was totally amazed by the color of the sea and the fantastic super tiny snow white pebbles. If you decide to drive your way to the shipwreck, you will see it from the top of the rocks – that is a big distance!

Manifestations in Zante 3 stars

One of the greatest manifestations in Zante is in August 23rd every year. It’s the celebration of Saint Deionizes – who is the protector of the island. Great many Christian believers from all over Greece visit the island for this celebration. They gather in St. Deionizes’ church and monastery to present their respects and late in the afternoon the fireworks take place! In the August, the international meeting of medieval ages theatre is organized as well! That’s an interesting meeting to attend If you are ineterested!

Going out in Zante 3 stars

In Zante I found everything! From a simple walk to the beach or night clubbing till early in the morning.
For a more quite situation I chose Tsilivi village with the great many restaurants and cafes, pups and karaoke cafes!! Friends Café was superb and more than a cafe! What a great cocktails we had! That was fun!
Laganas is the first choice of the club lovers in Zante. I found there the show business!! Great many clubs, one next to other, big lights and extremely loud music and ecstatic people. I thought I was at Las Vegas! Oh boy!

Food and delectables of Zante 4 stars
2 of 2 people found this review helpful
There are great many restaurants, tavernas, snack bars or even well known fast foods in every single village, near the beaches and anywhere in Zante. It is very well organized! In the town you can try rabbit. Going to the southern side of the island, I tried delicious fresh roasted fish at Keri and Vasilikos. Moving southwest to Argasi , I tried the well known massive grilled burgers with green salad enjoying a breathtaking view of the ocean and villages at the same!! At Tsilivi village, I had the best pasta, cheese and appetizers at a tavern close to the beach of Tsilivi and a tiger super hot Indian meal at the traditional Indian/Chinese restaurant of Tsilivi!!! Yum yum!!
Don’t forget the traditional pasteli (sesame bar) and caramel almonds!
The freshness and quality of food and sweets are guaranteed in Zante!

A crazy place! 2 stars

One of the places I didn’t really like in Zante was Laganas. It is known as the notorious place of Zante! This place is popular for the numerous night clubs, bars, touristic shops, beach pubs and restaurants, not to mention the extreme people! I’m not that fond of this craziness and I won’t recommend it to those seeking that something or a quality night out. Laganas is ideal for wild teenagers and all those who only want to get drunk from when the night is young till the early hours in the morning.
The beach in Laganas is very popular for water games and sports because it is sandy and very shallow!

Magic! 5 stars

One of the most fascinating and extremely beautiful places that I explored in Zante , are the blue caves.
Traveling to the very north of Zante, I made my way to the beautiful cape of Shinari. There from I took one of the many small boats that lead to the spectacular Blue Caves. It takes about 15 minutes to get there and you have to wear tons of sunscreen lotion to avoid sunburn while the open boat reaching out the amazing blue caves.
I haven’t seen such a mesmerizing and enchanting shade of blue that the water owns!
I couldn’t believe it! The boat gets the tourists inside the caves and so I had the chance to see the multiple colors of the water inside those massive rocks in the caves! There was a ten minutes’ stop for those wanting to take a quick swim in the heavenly waters of the caves!! I call it magic!

Zakynthos Island 2 stars
1 of 1 people found this review helpful
The island of Zakynthos, or Zante as it is sometimes known, has developed something of a reputation for hosting drunken Brits abroad, who spend their time downing shots, dancing on tables and being sick in gutters. If that´s your idea of fun, then you should head for the town of Laganas, which is the main hub for activity on the island. If, however, that sounds like your worst nightmare, than this is possibly not the island for you. I was here with a friend who had a spare ticket (long story) and found it all a bit too ´Club 18-30´, but maybe that is just because I am at the upper limit of their age restriction. However, away from Laganas, there are quiet small towns and villages, and it´s pleasant to hire bikes and cycle around the island. The island has a small airport , making it convenient for arrivals, but if you don´t fancy the Stag and Hen party environment then be sure to steer clear of Laganas.
