Zutphen is one of the nicest small towns in Gelderland, western Netherlands. Zutphen is probably the most medieval-looking town in the Netehrlands – small streets, cheese and flower markets, old houses with masts over the front door. It is one of the few towns in the country that has remains of its town walls still standing. There is also a great (but somehow expensive – 3.50 Euro entrance fee) cathedral and lots of nice little shops around the calm old streets.
