Insider advice for your Mishawaka vacation

I say Notre Dame, and the campus is nice enough. But I’d be willing to bet that if you come to Notre Dame as a tourist you are there for one reason and one reason only. Football. My husband and I went specifically just to see the stadium on a day when they didn’t even have football, and it was still pretty neat! There is a giant mural of what we call, “Touchdown Jesus” that is larger than life. Fans of the movie “Rudy” won’t want to miss the chance to just be at the place where so much of the movie was filmed. This is a great place to take your husband or boyfriend, it’s their equivalent of Hollywood I think.

Mishawaka 3 stars
Mishawaka is a surprisingly scenic area of Indiana. It’s close to the Michigan border, which means land-wise it’s a lot more lush than Central Indiana. It gets brutally cold in the winter due to lake effects, and can be excruciatingly hot in the summers. It is home to Notre Dame University. There are many sights to see in Mishawaka. Much of the city is based on commerce and little of it has to do with tourism, so have something in mind before you go if you are looking for tourism. I would recommend visiting in the summer, or in the fall if you want to go catch some great football. The winter there is just too bitterly cold!
