Best Ethnic Restaurant
After traveling the world, I have yet to find a Lebanese restaurant as excellent as the one found in my hometown in Toledo, Ohio. The Beirut is a small casual restaurant that serves Lebanese-Italian food and has been in operation since 1977. I often compare other Lebanese restaurants I frequent to this one and none can beat it . With an unpretentious atmosphere and a relaxed feel, this restaurant has been frequented by an interesting array of characters including Bill Cosby and the man that put Toledo on the map, Jamie Farr (a.k.a. Maxwell Klinger from the popular tv show M.A.S.H.) Toledo may not be a popular destination, but if you happen to be in town, I strongly recommend going.
Some of my favorite dishes are the raw kibbeh, garlic toast, sauteéd mushrooms, fatoosh, shish kebab, and last but not least, their cheese pizza. All of these dishes are inexpensive and meant to be shared.
