Small Town Ranching Community
Crane is a small community nestled in a valley on the edge of Harney Basin. It is located approximately 30 miles SE of Burns, just off of Highway 78. Though the sign claims 150 residents, it must encompass more than just the immediate community, for none of the locals I have talked to can name that many in Crane itself (and believe me, with a town so small everyone who lives here knows everyone who lives here).
