Karni Mata Temple 5 stars
This temple more commonly known as “The Rat Temple” was the highlight of India for me. Followers of the Hindu goddess Durga come worship here but so too it seems do thousands of rats. The Hindus believe that the rats are reincarnation of the male descendants of Durga’s followers. The rats are fed Ghee and bread and scurry all around your feet and in fact almost all over you. Seeing as these rats are thought to be the reincarnations of musicians music is played for them by local bands throughout the day. Although the temple itself is impressive it’s the sight of the thousands of docile rats scurrying about the place like owners that is the real draw here. As an interesting aside it has been estimated that the rat population here only grows by a few hundred a generation. Seeing that this is rat heaven it is highly unusual that the place hasn’t been swamped by every rat west of New Delhi. Does this give credibility to the theory that these rats are the reincarnations of Karni Mata’s followers? It’s worth thinking about anyhow. And there is always one white rat and if you see it during your visit a lifetime of good luck awaits.

Travelling from Jaipur to Dehli by car is unadvisable 1 stars
You shouldn´t do the trip from Jaipur to Delhi by car or bus. Especially not at night! It´s better to take the train. Der traffic is heavy and the road conditions are bad. To make things worse it gets very foggy sometimes suddenly so the visibility is very low. I was told that this is the most dangerous road in India with many fatal accidents.
