Jaw-dropping beautiful! I was not sure what was more fascinating to me about this hotel – the story that surrounds it, or its French-style of design. This hotel is quite fascinating, as the original manager of this hotel when it was first built in 1912, died in the Titanic. At first I was skeptical about staying at a hotel this old, my assumptions were that it would be drafty and outdated. However, when we arrived, it was nice to see that the Fairmont had all of the modern conveniences of other hotels. We were told that it had been decorated in French Renaissance, and this was seen throughout the hotel. Our room was large and airy, and there were enough clean towels. Another thing I liked was the hotel’s location – it is very close to the Canal, and this made it easier to drop off shopping bags. [more]
