Garden Bar and Lounge

 stars
The Garden Bar and Lounge is located opposite the reception. If you’re visiting after May, pick a seat on the veranda overlooking the garden. It’s really nice. Otherwise, indoors is not bad either. The armchairs are extremely comfortable and the brown interior is just right. I ordered a roasted beetroot and wild watercress salad with Twineham Grange cheese for £12.50. It was ok, not really worth the price though. I’d suggest you just go there for a drink instead or enjoy a good breakfast on the veranda in the morning. [more ]

The Goring Restaurant

 stars
If you enjoy elegant dining settings and excellently well-prepared fish or meat dishes, I am sure you will like the Goring Restaurant. Apparently their non-vegetarian courses are exceptional. Since I only eat vegetarian food I can’t give you a first hand opinion though, so pay a visit and try for yourself. We opted for the twice baked goat’s cheese soufflé to dinner, with chocolate ice cream for dessert. Satisfactory, but we liked the continental breakfast a lot more… especially their homemade Bircher muesli with fresh berries. [more ]

The Goring

 stars
Of all the hotels I have stayed at in London I’d say that The Goring at Beeston Place has the most private and familiar feel. Apparently it’s the oldest privately owned hotel in the city. Someone called it London’s best kept secret. All of the rooms and suites are individually designed, I was lucky to live in the room named “The Best Room” overlooking the hotel’s garden. I liked the old-fashioned traditional English feeling in the hotel and the staff was adorable. The Goring is truly a special luxury hotel and I can recommend it to anyone travelling to London. The location near Green Park and Buckingham Palace is perfect for tourists. [more ]
