Luxury in Sydney
My stay at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Sydney, Australia, was luxury with a capital L. In fact, it was luxury with a capital L, U, X, another U, R, and Y. It fact it was so luxurious that it was almost mind-numbingly boring.
To begin with, the staff didn't smile. Staff at these hotels seldom do, but then again, neither do the people who stay there. However, the service was efficient and the facilities were impeccably clean.
But it was also full of those annoyingly dim lights that cause you to fall over things, and everything was just so brown. Oh, sorry, I should say "fawn", because brown is drab. But a rose by any other name...
The building itself is old and beautiful, and there is a gym and pool. The restaurant is fair, and the bar is full of overseas business men sipping drinks I can't even spell.
But for over $200 per night, what do you expect? [more]
