A Grand Old Place-Radisson’s SAS Palais Hotel Ordinarily when traveling abroad I prefer to stay at non-franchise hotels. However, Radisson’s SAS Palais Hotel was not only luxurious (what 5-star isn’t?) and ideally located (only a 10-15 minute walk to the old city center), it was also fairly affordable. We went in February during off peak so prices were probably reflective of the non-tourist season. We found the hotel staff to be very courteous, and the food--including room service--was exceptional (especially the Palais Café)! That stated, I would highly recommend getting breakfast out on the economy. There were several small cafés down from the hotel that served large English and American-style breakfasts for less than 3 Euro. Lastly, while I don’t usually base the level of enjoyment on the choice of hotel, our stay at the Palais Hotel definitely enhanced our overall Vienna experience! [more]
