I recently stayed at Craigendarroch, not in the hotel part of the complex but in one of the lodges. These are well appointed with lots of room, and mod cons such as a dishwasher and flat screen tv and DVD player. Lodge guests also have use of the hotel pool and spa facilities.
We had a great stay, blessed with good weather but the complex meant that even if it had been rainy there would have been plenty to do. As it was, there was walking and running in the surrounding countryside. There are restaurants on site but we choose to walk into Ballater one night for dinner.
There's a lovely 'home from home' feeling about this place and it's very peaceful and quiet. Lots of bunnies and squirrels add to the countryside experience! [more ]
