Campanile: average hotel, great location I stayed at this hotel because it was a convenient place to be for all the festivities going on near the Albert dock on New Year's Eve. I wanted a place that was not too expensive, and within walking distance of the dock (I figured taxis were going to be hard to come by on that particular night). Basically I got exactly what I asked for; the location was perfect for what I wanted, and the price was certainly right. I wouldn't say this hotel is anything special, and certainly if I had come to Liverpool as an international visitor I wouldn't have wanted to stay in such a place. It's not a terrible hotel or anything, it's clean and fairly well mainained, but it's in desperate need of refurbishment. The bed was lumpy and uneven, the the bathroom fixtures were old enough that it was impossible to make them shiny clean anymore, and everything in general was gloomy and needed to be updated. Nonetheless, as I mentioned before it's a great location and the price is right. Recommended only if you're on a budget. [more]
