The first thing you will notice about the Archaeological Museum is the building in which it is housed- I belive it's neoclassical and it's certainly very splendid.
I love the Greek...

In our guidebook, the Planetarium was listed under children's activities, but I don't know why because I love Planetariums! I think that this may still be the largest planetarium in the world with...

The Roman Agora is a famous site in Athens, reputedly being the place where democracy was born in Athens. It used to be the business, religious and political hub of Athens as well as staging some...

The Parthenon is probably the best known and most popular of the Acropolis' monuments and, for this reason, it is always very busy in high season, but I think that it's really worth the wait....

You can't go to Athens without visiting the Acropolis. I know it's the most well know tourist destination in Athens, but in my opinion, it's definitely worth a visit. I'm no architectural expert,...

About twenty years, Psirri apparently became the new place to go, the new 'trendy' area of Athens. Since then, lots of other areas have staked a claim to this title and Psirri has fallen by the...

Piaka is the 'old town' of Athens although it's not as pretty and untouched as some of the 'old towns' in other cities. It's extremely touristy with a lot of tacky souvenirs on sale (although I...

Even though Agistri is a small island it is very well organized! There a plenty of hotels and rooms to let. I booked on-line “Kekrifalia hotel” at “Skala”. It is a three star hotel right by the ocean that’s where it took its’ name of.
Kekrifalia means standing at the edge of...

An interesting exploration that I made in the island was the tour of “Mylos”. Leaving the central square, I passed by the bakery and went down towards the old church of “Agios Georgis” and then to the coastal road which links “Skala” with the port of “Mylos”. Passing along the...

Another beautiful walk I took at the island was from “Skala” to “ Metochi”. I got there by the ascending road and my return to “Skala” by the carriage way which crosses the village and meets another that leads to the motor road of “Mylos” to “Skala”. The view from...

I took a walk from “Skala” (where I stayed) to “Mylos” and back. The two villages are linked with two roads, The north one along the coast and the south one inland. I left from “Skala” taking the inland road on my way to “Mylos” village and returned following the coastal one where...

I knew that Agistri is a small island, with no fuss and crowded streets. You can hire a bike or a motor bike to explore the island for as long as you want. There are also two private small busses running the route “Skala” – “Megalochori” – “Limenaria” – “Aponissos” which are...
