Not what we expected The Dorint was not as "great" as was advertised. The lobby displays awards claiming it is one of the top 250 hotels in Germany. If that is true, I hope I don't stay at number 251. In the last month, I have spent several nights at the Dorint. The location was not ideal. The bus stop was close that could take you downtown or to the Sanssouci Park, but the actual hotel wasn't near anything! Also, the food was not good. At a recent conference, many complained about the low quality of food they were served. In my opinion, the best meal is the tomato soup. One last complaint is the closet system. There are no drawers to put your clothes and not enough hangers to hang them. Thus, my clothes were wrinkled, and there was no iron in the room. (The staff would iron for you for a fee, of course.) Oh, and the Internet in your room cost 39 Euro! I'm not kidding--I asked twice because I couldn't believe it! Overall, the beds were fine, and that's the main point of a hotel, I guess, but I think there are better options for your money. [more]
