 stars
Next in the roster of Manila hotels that you would probably be happy to stay in is the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Manila which you can find at the Makati Avenue corner Paseo de Roxas, Makati City 1226. Prices for accommodations typically starts at around 135 US$ plus tax and service charges.

Its dining facilities are also something that you should try since it offers a whole range of cuisines and even delicious pastries that can give you a most memorable gastronomic experience. Try the Mandarin Deli and check out its wide variety of fresh breads and pastries that you would definitely love to sink your teeth in. A Day in Mandarin Oriental Hotel

 stars
A Chinese cable channel's yearly lineup of programs was fittingly presented at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati, Philippines. It was my first time at the posh hotel and I can very well say that I was not dismayed with what I have seen and experienced. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Philippines truly lived up to an international hotel standard that you will keep going back for.

The presentation, exclusive for the members of the media, was all about globally acclaimed Chinese movies and shows that will be showed at the channel. To fit the occasion, everything from the setting of the function room to the food menu is tailored in authentic Chinese fashion. Mandarin Oriental Hotel has a neat way of putting things together cut out for their client's taste and requirement. I knew for a fact that the organizers of the event were very satisfied with the kind of program that the hotel has provided them. I, as an attendee was satisfied as well. Mandarin Oriental Hotel's personnel have a great way of working hand-in-hand with their clients to carry out the objectives of every function in such an outstanding manner.

Sure, Mandarin Oriental Hotel must be good at concocting authentic oriental dishes. But you will not be able to express how good if you have not tasted them. For my part, I definitely enjoyed every part of the course that was presented in my plate -- from the soup to the appetizers to the main meal to the dessert. But that's not what the hotel is all about.

Aside from corporate and personal functions, Mandarin Oriental Hotel also holds entertainment events in its local bars. Its array of restaurants is a must-visit as well. Whether it is fine dining or casual dining that you are mostly comfortable with, you will surely find it right within the hotel's fascinating pillars. Mandarin Oriental Hotel is also great for luxurious R&R. Rest and relaxation are well-defined by the well-appointed suites and a calming spa that operates from as early as 9am to as late as 1am. If ever, be sure to make your reservations early because Mandarin Oriental Hotel is mostly fully booked the whole year through. [more ]

Dining Heaven at the Tivoli Grill

 stars
The Tivoli for short is the premier French restaurant at the Mandarin Hotel. Located just across the elevators on the second floor of the hotel, you are greeting by charming hostess and very attentive staff who know exactly when to leave you alone for intimate conversation, as well as when to refill you glass or to take your order!

Their Duck Confit is a super must-try---as well as their starters, like their Caesar's Salad! Heard from some friends that often the restaurant will have a festival of sorts featuring a specific luxury food item or ingredient, like truffle. Although it's clearly pricey, your date will absolutely thank you for the memories at the Tivoli! I did:) [more ]

Chinese Feast at Tin Hau!

 stars
I think my first visit to Tin Hau's Chinese Restaurant at the Mandarin Hotel was during Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year in February!

As tradition demanded, the new year meal had to have a lot of noodles--to wish for the long life of those who ate it:) But other than the noodles, I think what really stood out was the steamed large snapper that was tender and light to the taste, in a broth of sesame oil, soy sauce and others. So if you do find yourself there, definitely suggest you ask for their steamed fish! And noodles for long life of guests at the table! [more ]

Conway Bar's Cuisine!

 stars
The Conway Bar is an interesting place to spend a nice lunch with family or get the best of live music in the city in such an intimate setting.

During lunch hours, there's a great moderately priced buffet featuring Pan-Asian and Continental European cuisine. When I was there I was totally in love, as was my family, with the lamb chops:) The mint jelly was the right compliment to the tender chops!

And in the evening, let's just say, there are live jazz acts with a band that come to serenade the excited crowds of expats, locals and even hotel guest who join in the party. [more ]
