Sunday Brunch at Ista
Another Sunday, another brunch. This time, at the 24-hour coffee shop called Lido on the 3rd floor of the posh Ista hotel. The café is airy with terrace seating by the pool and the cityscape in sight. The service was so good the waiters could have been doting on me. I went through the meal course by course. Mocktails (for the teetotaler), Indian appetizers (which were excellent), cold salads, cheeses, breads, cold cuts, soups, live grill and pasta counters. A special menu for main course from which I ordered the leg of duck and a mushroom asparagus pastry – each served as a work of art. And then an array of imaginative desserts. The Rs 950 bill for this ‘Vitalizer’ brunch almost seemed meagre. Then, a cuppa chai and a good book by the pool.
