Opera House: The Stopera
The Stopera in Amsterdam is an important landmark for the city. It houses important theatre shows and opera concerts. It is the Musical Theatre of this city but in the past it was the place where both city hall and the opera could be found. I was curious about the name and the guide explained that it comes from the Dutch name of city hall and opera. It is a real success. Many visitors also come here to enjoy the music but also for a beautiful view of the Amstel River. The block type building and the glass facades attract everybody’s attention and I found the outside look of the Stopera very interesting. [more] |
