A Museum and a Theater All in One
I went to the Kennedy Center one day to catch a panel discussion that sounded interesting. Unfortunately, it sounded interesting to a lot of people and was full by the time I got there (tip: reserve your tickets ahead of time or show up an hour before your program). Since I didn’t want to waste the trip down there, I looked around for a while. Aside from the numerous theaters, the Kennedy Center also has several exhibits in the hallways and upstairs galleries. I spent an hour going through everything. They also have free tours of some of the theaters, which I missed just because I didn’t realize it was an option until I was about to leave. If you’re looking for a convenient excuse to go to the Kennedy Center, check their website for performances. They have free shows at their Millennium Theater every night. If you’re on a budget, this is definitely something to write into your itinerary. [more] |
