The lovely St. James's Park
On my countless visits to London, I've always idolized St James Park. St James's Park is probably the most remarkable and intimate of the capital's central parks. A fascinating place where I can walk any time of the year, spectacular trees, stunning statues and a magnificent lake with ducks, geese and pelicans, it's unquestionably London's greatest park and a major place for views of Westminster and Buckingham Palace. I went during last spring and summer the flower beds are absolutely amazing with large swathes of color. I adored the view from the bridge towards Whitehall. It is indeed a truly amazing place, and I will always go back there. [more] |

Londonentity
I took a stroll through St James Park for the first time since I was a kid visiting London, the other day. And I was pleased to find it hadn't lost any of it's charm. Squirrels, little boys peeing on trees, and countless locals going for strolls or sitting and enjoying the ambience, away from the hustle and bustle of Greater London. On the not so fun side though, it was pretty chilly! [more] |

The lively park in the central London
House of pelicans, squirrels, birds and ducks, St. James Park is a very attractive park in the city centre of London. It is located between the Palace of Buckingham and Trafalgar Square, and just few metres from Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. Despite of the park not to be as big as other parks of the city such as Hyde and Regent’s, it has a lake, restaurant and abundant vegetation. The best of St. James is the number of animals concentrated there. The squirrels, very popular in the park, for instance, seem to be trained to come until your foot (and perhaps climb in you!) if you have any food, mainly peanuts. It is a good way to walk if you want to explore this area of the city centre. [more] |

Walkabout- not much to do -park
St James´s Park is adjacent to Buckingham Palace. A short distance from the Big Beng and Westminster Abbey also accessible from Trafalgar Square through the Victoria Gates. There is not really much going on in this park, it is usually great for walking towards the palace and back to the other London main attractions. There are no bars or restaurants around here so it goes dead when there are no tourists around. Sometimes during summer season there are some activities. There are small bridges and ponds with ducks that are fun for kids. Not an essential park to visit but great shade aid for hot summer days. [more] |

St. James Park
To get to St. James Park you will have to take the tube to St. James Park (it is located at The Mall). In the beginning it served as a deer park, but was turned into a garden and park in 17th century. Although not my favorite park in London (my favorite still is Regent's Park) it is still pretty enough to have a stroll in the spring or summer or you can even enjoy a picnic there. There is a big lake with all sorts of birds and a bandstand but also from the bridge you can enjoy beautiful views of the Buckingham Palace. [more] |

St James' Park
St James's park is situated a couple of minutes walk from trafalgar square and is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike. It provides a large green surrounding with lots of open space. You will find many people sit in the park all year round -meeting friends after work, having picnics, playing ball games, relaxing and generally watching the world go by. There is no shortage of space and whether you're alone or with friends the atmosphere is only one of content. There are paths throughout the park suitable for bikes and prams, and you can also go for a stroll along the lake. If it gets too hot in summer there are plenty of trees providing shade, and if you're in need of refreshments there is a food and beverage stand at the main entrance to the park. In addition if you prefer not to sit on the grass you can also help yourself to a deck chair from the huge pile of them near the lake. [more] |

and the Trees...
I don’t know if the trees will seem spectacular to you, but I always find the trees in Great Britain to have an extraordinary shape. They seem to me humans transformed into human trees. In St James Park, I felt the branches crossing over the alley to have a particular beauty in their harmony of shape…..That’s another contribution to the whole calm-inspiring atmosphere. I think the pictures are self-explanatory… [more] |

Inspiring nature in St James Park
If you are in London and the busy noisy streets get over your nerves, you might want to launch yourself in a calming break. I was impressed by the calm an area like this can bring to your senses. The truth is that St. James Park is a perfect in-town escape from the town. If you are in London for a few-days-rush, like I was, you might want to take a stroll within a beautiful glimpse of nature.
