Albertina
The historical value of Albertina is innumerable. Once imperial guest apartments named for Maria Theresa's son in law, Albertina is first and foremost dedicated to its namesake, who had the rare combination of good taste and artistic philanthropy. This temple for saints such as Klimt, Picasso, da Vinci and Rubens was hit hard during World War II but re-opened in 2003 after major renovations (keeping up with the theme of philanthropy and art). Going to Albertina today also means getting to check out the guest rooms, the Filmmuseum, and an extension of the National Library (not to mention, as in most Viennese locales, an amazing café).
