Extraordinary building
The Rathaus in Bamberg is one of the most beloved picture locations in all of Germany and it is easy to understand why. The Rathaus is lovely, a small charming building built in the middle of the river. There is a big difference in the viewpoint of the building so make sure you see it from the right side. I first saw it from the opposite side as my picture and couldn't really understand what the fuzz was all about. The area around the Rathaus is also really nice with lots of small restaurants and cafe's for your enjoyment. Do youself a favour and spend an hour walking around here. [more] |

Bamberg town hall
Bamberg town hall is one of the greatest town halls I have ever seen. It is unique in many ways – for example it is built in the middle of the river. Well, it is on the northern end of a thin island, but it looks like it is built directly in the river. There are two bridges crossing the town hall – Obere Bruecke which passes through an arch under the town hall and Untere Bruecke – on the northern side of the town hall. Both facades of the town hall are very beautifully painted with some scenes from the bible or the town’s life. [more] |
