Manoel Theatre/Teatru Manoel
Without doubt, the Manoel is the prettiest theatre I have ever seen. Built in 1731, in Baroque splendour, it was badly neglected over the years until being renovated in the 1960s. Hidden away in the narrow streets of Valletta, it can be difficult to find - but is well worth a visit, either for a show or simply to see the premises. Tours take place ever 45 minutes from 10.15am, and cost LM2.50 per person (£4). It's one of the oldest living theatres in the world - and its charms are truly delightful. Go! [more] |
