Milano Cathedral
The cathedral is one of the most important city highlights of Milano. As we prepared the itinerary before leaving Germany, we searched the internet and found that to visit the cathedral they charged a high entrance fee. To our surprise, when we got there, we didn’t have to pay anything. The cathedral is definitely worth seeing, but the interior is very similar to any other big catholic cathedral. What is different about this cathedral, is that it hosts two tombs underground. There are very long queues to see the tombs, so prepare to wait for at least 10 minutes. They were restoring the cathedral when we visited it, so maybe now it looks a lot better. [more] |

The Cathedral
The Cathedral in Milan is a way to admire treasures contributed to there throughout the ages. Before going in however, it should be noted that the outside of the cathedral is much better than the inside appearance. When I walked into the Cathedral I was very disappointed with the way the Cathedral is dull inside compared to the spectacular outside. Unfortunately some of the Cathedral was concealed by the construction work outside. This was in 2006 and there were many rumors that in 2007 everything would be complete. The first thing to do inside this Cathedral is to climb to the roof. Here you can get a pretty good view of the streets and the small shops located just around the corner from the Cathedral. Getting to the top is accessible by both elevator and the stairs so if you are exhausted from walking around the whole day, the elevator is really great. [more] |
