Friedrichswerdersche Kirche

 stars
The Friedrichswerdersche Kirche is a museum in disguise as a church. Designed by Berlin’s most beloved Romantic architect Schinkel, it’s a museum dedicated to his life and his work. Hidden from the main Unter den Linden drag, you’ll have to be curious or a Schinkel fan to make your way slightly behind the Staatsoper. The museum is not cluttered with prints and displays but left relatively empty with just statues placed on the main floor. You’ll find the framed prints and informational panels of Schinkel along the rim of the upper floor with a pathway large enough for one person, traffic facilitated by climbing up on side and coming down on the other. It’s free so you won’t lose anything by making a visit. [more]
