Balboa Park Cactus Garden
When you think of San Diego, perhaps “garden” isn’t the first word that comes to mind. But then put the word cactus in there and you have the Balboa Park Cactus Garden. This is a small but amazing little retreat tucked away among the interstates and sprawl that is otherwise San Diego. Go in the late afternoon and early evening to view the golden sunlight on cactus species that include barrel, prickly pear, cholla, agave and many others.
