Royal Academy of Arts

 stars
I visited Royal Academy of Arts in the middle of September this year, I saw Impressionists by the Sea (7 July to 30 September 2007) which is an exhibition that explores the development of the trendy beach scene from the early 1960’s to the early 1870’s through work by Monet, Manet and Eugéne Boudin. I had never been to the Royal Academy of Arts before but I really enjoyed it and would like to return some time. The exhibitions change a few times a year, from 22 September to the 9th December they show work from the well-known German artist Georg Baselitz. Come early in the morning to avoid queues. [more]

Prestigious exhibitions in London

The Royal Academy of Arts is located in Central London, quite near Piccadilly Circus. The gallery was founded in 1768 and is used for major art exhibitions. The building is beautiful, with an imposing façade, shaped by statues. The figure of Raphael is one of them. Inside the building, I would highlight the ceiling decoration of some rooms of the first floor, where are the main exhibitions, which change regularly. From 27th June until 13th September 2009, the Royal Academy of Arts hosts the very interesting exposition “J.W. Waterhouse: The Modern Pre-Raphaelite”, among others, a great option in London.
