Beautiful Bridge, Great View Point

 stars
This attractive bridge spans the Montlake Cut, part of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. It is located on the southern border in the southeast part of the UW campus and connects the Montlake area to the University District. The control towers of this 104.9 foot bridge were designed to match the University of Washington's collegiate gothic architectural style.

Pedestrian traffic is allowed on the bridge. This is my favorite place to watch the university crew races. It is within easy walking distance of the UW boat house and you get a great view of the race from this vantage point. You also get a nice view of Union Bay. [more ]
