Gur Emir
This Mausoleum was erected in the 14/1500s as a tomb for the Timuride-Dynasty. It is especially beautiful in the sunset as the contrasting colors of the dome change colors with every change of the sun rays. In the middle you find the tomb of Tamerlan, also known as Timur, the great conqueror and emperor and till today, you find people praying at his grave. The strange view of a high wooden pole with an animal tail attached to it can be found at one of the sides and it shows the connection to one of the sheikhs of the dynasty being related to farming and cattle.
