the Indiana State Museum
This museum is located in downtown Indianapolis, directly on the canal walkway. There is underground parking and there are a couple of locations from which you can purchase tickets, including online. I love museums and I try to go to at least one museum wherever I go whenever I travel. Because of this, I have seen many museums and I have to tell you that the Indianapolis State Museum is still one of the best I’ve ever visited. The museum is large, and covers three floors. The museum goes from prehistoric Indiana, all the way up to present time, covering all of the important periods in the history of Indiana. There are several fascinating artifacts including cars, WWI and WWII memorabilia, and sculptures. There is a large clock hat runs entirely off of the rotation of the earth. There’s so much packed into this museum, right down to its educational gift shop. It’s definitely worth the price of admission, and if you are a fan of museums at all then you will really enjoy this one. [more] |
