One of the most famous theaters in the United States, the Guthrie Theater relocated back in 2006 to a completely remodeled building. The Guthrie is well-known for its Shakespeare productions, and some of the most famous troupes in the world have made appearances here.
I found the remodeled theater to be more modern, but somehow less intimate than the original Guthrie. This one has three stages, a full-service restaurants and numerous lounges. It was certainly comfortable, but prices were high, and the the theater has lost a bit of its old, classic feel.
Don't let that deter you from visiting the Guthrie at least once if you're in Minnesota though. It's still one of the finest theaters in the country, and its Shakespeare productions are second to none. You'll quickly find that it's a great place for a night of fine arts and entertainment. [more ]
