Arenberg Villa
Arenberg Villa is located at Arenbergstrasse. It dates back to the time of 14th century, but in 17th century it was bought by one of the Prince Archbishops Ernst Von Thun (although it did not stay in his possession for long. It might be me but these Prince Archbishops had a great fondness for properties, especially castles; they bought them like other people buy socks). It was also home to poet Hermann Mahr. Devastated by the fire at the beginning of 19th century it was restored but this time in Biedermeier style. Today the building is home to the Salzburg local government and you can only check it out from the outside. [more] |
