Altmarkt , Dresden

5.0 stars

Altmarkt Square.

Like many countries in Europe, Germans love Square markets and I love to see them. They have interesting things; I bought a pair of sandals, you really need comfortable shoes to walk in Dresden and the prices and the quality were o.k
Markets, festivities, tournaments and games were staged here. Important historical events turned the Altmarkt square into one of the social centers In town. During the bombing raids on February 1945 the square was also destroyed. The fast recovery of the cities in Germany after WWII always impressed me. [more ]

Old town

Dresden is the pearl of Germany, similar to Prague. The Historical place is right on the left side of the Elbe river. Is the Saxon capital, its just beautiful. We were there in April and the weather was perfect. It couldn’t have been better. The city was almost destroyed during World war II but they have made a great work renewing and building up. The Old Town is the most important part and it functions as the center of all. Here we found lots of nice shops, stores some expensive and some others not so much, prices are o.k [more ]
