Sightseeing on San Francisco's Cable Cars
There were a handfull of things that I really wanted to do on my trip to San Francisco. Number 1 was to see the Golden Gate Bridge. That was pretty easy. The second was to have a ride on a cable car. Again, relatively straightforward. Number 3, however, was a little harder. I wanted to be chased by the police in a car and do jumps over the crests of the city's steep streets, just like on all those 1980s good cop/bad cop movies. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do this. However, I did see somebody else doing this, and that really made my day.
I saw the spectacal of a car being chased by three police cars while on a special cable car sightseeing trip. The trip lasted for an hour, and took us through some of the most scenic of San Francisco's neighbourhoods. We took in Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Downtown, Chinatown, and few others whose names escape me.
The trip was a hop on/hop off affair, with pickup points at Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, Union Square, and cost $18 adults and $10 children.
There was also a good commentary on board. [more ]
