Some serious history at the City Hall
You might not necessarily think big history in connection with Münster. But you should. In 1648 the Westphalian Peace Treaty was signed in the Münster City Hall (and in Osnabrück), ending the Thirty Years War and forever changing the landscape of Europe, establishing the Westphalian State system of nation states, balancing each other out in order to avoid more devestating wars. In the City Hall you can still see the room in which the European big cheeses sat around the table deciding the continental fate.
