The Old Cathedral
The Old cathedral of Linz is situated just behind the main square and is easily recognizable because it is painted in green. This church first belonged to the Jesuits and then served as a cathedral for more than a century after the creation of the catholic diocese of Linz and before the construction of the much bigger New Cathedral at the end of the 19-th century. The interior of the church and especially the altar is very beautiful, decorated, of course as with most Jesuit churches – in the Baroque style.
