For Art Lovers...
I love art museums anyway, so the National Gallery is really exciting for me. This museum has such an extensive collection that it requires two buildings to hold all the art as well as an outdoor sculpture garden. I always try to walk through the sculpture gardens whenever I’m walking around the Mall. There’s so much to see that I like to pick a few sections to really look at instead of running through the whole museum while I try to see it all at once. My favorites are the William Harnett works and the other trompe d’oeil pieces. The collection of modern art is pretty good and they have a huge collection of Renaissance paintings. [more] |
