This is the place to see and be seen in Vancouver! Granville Island has something for everyone, young and old. Open 7 days a week, this marketplace encompasses more than 300 vendors, restaurants, services, and unique Vancouver artisans. This is also the place to get the freshest produce and seafood in town. From this you can imagine how wonderful the restaurants are! You can sit on the pier, watch the seagulls flying by, enjoying the freshest fish you’ve ever eaten. Don’t forget your camera. Before visiting, check out their website at www.granvilleisland.com for a continuous stream of upcoming events. Heck, you may as well take in some entertainment while you’re there. Here’s a tip – don’t drive to Granville Island if you can help it (although parking is cool inside one of the old warehouses) – parking is at a premium. If you planned to stay for two hours, you could easily spend one of those hours trying to park. Seriously. Instead, take a water taxi from Yaletown , across False Creek to Granville Island. It’s cheap, quick and what a unique way to see Vancouver! Fantastic for the photographer. It's easy to spend a day here (including lunch or dinner) - it's fun a gives you a taste of the west coast in the beautiful city of Vancouver!! [more] |
