Your First Stop
I went to the Smithsonian Castle after I had already been to some of the museums, which I realized was the wrong way to do it. The Castle actually serves as the Smithsonian Museums’ information center and is a good jump-off point if you want to see some museums but don’t have enough time to see them all. Aside from the staff who can answer all your questions and help you plan your day, there is a room dedicated to small displays from every museum. Sort of a sample platter- so you can try it all and see which ones pique your interest. I also liked the gardens outside, which were well kept and charming. It’s always nice to find some green space in a big city. [more] |
