A Walk Through the Naional Garden
I went here in the winter, which meant that the outdoor gardens were dried and brown. Inside the greenhouse, however, was in full bloom. It was also really warm, which was a welcome change from the weather outside. The greenhouse is surprisingly big and there are plenty of plants, flowers and trees to look at. I’m totally clueless about plants though, and wished there had been more information about what I was looking at. I like the room with the medicinal plants, but again I wished it had more information about the plants. It was all right in terms of being a place to get away from the miserable Washington winter for a few minutes, but I didn’t really get that much out of it. [more] |

The United States Botanic Gardens
I had the opportunity to visit the United States Botanical Garden in Washington, DC, during an extensive tour of the city and its suburbs. I visited the park in the company of five other friends and we were accorded the privilege of a guided tour of the park. The guide who took us around garden informed us that the expansive greenhouse garden covers thousands of square meters. Some of the most exciting things that I viewed in the botanical garden were magnificent rose gardens which according to our guide have different unique species of rose plants.
