Galdhøpiggen - Norway's talles mountain stars

Galdhøpiggen is a must do in Norway. Not because it's the mountain with the best view or most exhilarating climb but simply because it it Norway's tallest mountain and must therefore be climbed!

No worries though the climb to the top of the 2469m tall mountain is not a hard one and the view is simply staggering. So there are plenty of reasons to go here :) There are also several guided tours in the area around the two tourist cabins that serve as lodging for tourist, Spitersulen and Juvasshytta. Here you can go on glacier walks with an experienced Glacier guide and you can taste some excellent Norwegian food.

Jotunheimen - Overview

Jotunheimen () is a mountainous area of roughly 3,500 km² in Southern Norway and is part of the long Scandinavian Mountain range. The 29 highest mountains in Norway are all in Jotunheimen, including the very highest - Galdhøpiggen (2469 m). The Jotunheimen area straddles the border between the counties of Oppland and Sogn og Fjordane.
